EHAG April 2026 - Bad Seed

Meet "Bad Seed", my EHAG offering for this month. Inspired by a piece I made in 2014.

This pumpkin witch brews up a magical potion to give life to her pumpkin babies. Gently tending to them from seed. She hand crafts her watering can from an abandoned nest lined with maple leaves. And with a carefully crafted spell, she scoops up her special brew and covers the soil, "rise my beauties, rise".

This showstopper is a one of a kind. Hand sculpted from multiple types of polymer clay. Her skeleton is made from hand sawed wood (I use my grandfather's hand saw).

I used a mixture of vintage fabrics including the fabric I used for the original piece.

She stands on a wood slice base and is permanently attached. The ground covering is hand sculpted.

Her hat is hand woven from faux branches (I was inspired by a hat I made myself for the show). Her belt and hands are also hand woven faux branches (the hands are hand painted).

I used the original pumpkin witch as a reference when sculpting the baby. Which is also hand sculpted from multiple types of polymer clay over wire. The leaves (both the maple and the baby's leaves) are hand sculpted as well.

The "Bad Seed Farms" sign is a wood cutout that has been hand painted to make it look very old.

The cauldron is handmade from paper mache and neoprene and resin. The light is woven through. And the battery pack is hidden behind the sign.

Multiple pieces are finished with resin.

She measures about 17.5 inches tall to the top of her hat.

She arrives just in time for Halfway to Halloween and the full moon this Thursday at 9pm Eastern at the EHAG Blogspot (link in bio.

And make sure not to miss all of the other EHAG artists' creations!

Due to the handmade nature no returns/exchanges.
