La Befana Lantern
Meet La Befana, the Italian Christmas witch. She flies high above the house lantern that she is attached to.
In Italian folklore and folk customs, the Befana is a witch who delivers gifts to children throughout Italy on Epiphany Eve.
This piece is a real labor of love.
Befana, the snow cover and the house are hand sculpted from multiple types of polymer clay on a wire skeleton. Attached to a wood slice and glittered snowflake wood base.
Befana wears a hand sculpted home hat. She rides a hand sculpted snow and ice broom with attached pine branches. Her shirt is faux fur, skirt is knitted fabric, wrap is plaid fabric and her cape is hand sewn fabric with a wire insert.
She has a hand sculpted head scarf with a metallic fabric overlay. And ribbon trim.
3 trees are attached to the base. The base is covered with snow medium. There is an attached light underneath to light up the windows of the house. Comes with a remote control.
Her eyes, mouth, nails, broom and handmade windows are finished with resin.
She is sealed and finished with glitter.
The piece measures about 15 inches tall.
Due to the handmade nature no returns exchanges.
She comes signed by me.
